Community Projects | Missouri Headwaters State Park, Peregrine Falcon Trail Viewing Shelter
Location | Missouri Headwaters State Park, Three Forks, MT
Materials | Tube steel columns and purlins, plate steel arcs and 14 gauge flat steel roofing rolled to form the wing shape, steel structure for the table and benches with Garapa hardwood decking.
Design Intent | Inspired by the wingspan of a bird in flight, abstracted into a roof form to provide shade and shelter while viewing the Peregrine Falcons nesting in the limestone rock cliffs high above the Missouri River. Multiple angled columns imply enclosure on the sides forming a “Nesting” character in the structural design.
Funding | Missouri-Madison River Fund & NorthWestern Energy.
In Collaboration with | Montana State Park – Region 3, Sacajawea Audubon Society, & Trident Cement Plant.
