Aspen Street Bridge - Cable Suspension Bridge - In Progress

Picture
Picture
Community Project | Aspen Street Bridge - Cable Suspension Bridge - In Progress
Location | Aspen Street, Bozeman, MT - Northeast Urban Renewal District
Materials | Steel construction, steel cables, concrete footings, and hardwood decking.
Design Intent | Inspiration from the old train trestle bridges where many light members form the structure. The four outrigger structures are made of steel using multiple members to create the transparency and lightness of the structure. Continuing with this idea the primary and alternate cable lines support the steel structure beneath the wood decking. Horizontal railing contains the bridge to satisfy building code requirements and generates a structure that is both transparent and sculptural in form and materials.
